Code

NeutMon can be used to understand if a class of traffic (currently only BitTorrent) is discriminated. Bandwidth- and path- related metrics are collected for both BitTorrent and a comparison flow.

To execute a test, client and server must be run at the end of the path of interest. The tool must be executed as root. At the end of the test an output file is produced where the collected information is stored. The output file can then be analyzed using one of the tools provided in the following archive. Analysis tools produce additional files and images that can be used to reason about the neutrality of an operator. At the moment the tool is not user-friendly (there is no graphical user interface and output files must be separately analyzed).

Data

The data contained in the following archive has been collected using NeutMon on the nodes of the MONROE platform. The speed test for short experiments had a duration of 10 s, whereas long experiments had a duration of 30 s.
