{"id":5,"date":"2011-05-28T08:29:13","date_gmt":"2011-05-28T06:29:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/vecchio.iet.unipi.it\/permoby\/?page_id=4"},"modified":"2013-11-03T09:05:44","modified_gmt":"2013-11-03T09:05:44","slug":"call-for-papers","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/vecchio.iet.unipi.it\/permoby2014\/call-for-papers\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for papers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><del><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Submission deadline: November 4, 2013<\/strong><\/span><\/del><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">EXTENDED DEADLINE (submission): November 11th, 2013<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The key components of many pervasive systems and applications are already<br \/>\ndeployed in the form of ubiquitous commercial products carried by humans.<br \/>\nHuman mobility makes it possible for such key components to interact,<br \/>\npromoting cooperation and sharing of content, services and resources.<br \/>\nSmartphones, tablet PCs, and other personal devices act as mobile computing<br \/>\nelements able to gather information about the surrounding environment<br \/>\naccording to the mobility of users. In other situations these devices<br \/>\noperate as mobile nodes of the computing and\/or networking infrastructure,<br \/>\nwhere interaction and communication occur opportunistically.<\/p>\n<p>The goal of PerMoby is to explore the impact of human mobility on the<br \/>\nachievement of the pervasive computing vision.\u00a0 The focus is on pervasive<br \/>\napplications, systems, and protocols where mobility plays an active role<br \/>\nin achieving the end goals.<\/p>\n<p>Original papers addressing both theoretical and practical aspects of<br \/>\nhuman-centric applications and systems are solicited. Papers describing<br \/>\nprototype implementations and deployment of such applications and systems<br \/>\nare particularly welcome. The submission of papers on controversial issues<br \/>\nis also encouraged. Topics of interest include but are not limited to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>pervasive systems and applications based on (or influenced by) human mobility<\/li>\n<li>mobile phone sensing applications and systems<\/li>\n<li>opportunistic and participatory sensing, and anything in between<\/li>\n<li>opportunistic computing<\/li>\n<li>pervasive systems with humans in the loop<\/li>\n<li>wearable sensing systems<\/li>\n<li>mobility models<\/li>\n<li>distributed computing approaches that rely on human mobility<\/li>\n<li>impact of human mobility on wireless communication<\/li>\n<li>green pervasive applications that leverage human mobility<\/li>\n<li>mobility aware protocols<\/li>\n<li>opportunistic networking<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Paper submission<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Papers should contain original material and should not be previously<br \/>\npublished or currently submitted for consideration elsewhere.\u00a0 Manuscripts<br \/>\nare limited to a maximum of 6 pages in IEEE conference format. Accepted<br \/>\npapers will be published by IEEE Computer Society Press in the combined<br \/>\nPerCom 2014 Workshops Proceedings and will appear on IEEE Xplore. At least<br \/>\none author of each accepted paper must register and attend the workshop<br \/>\nto present the paper. There is no workshop-only registration. An oral<br \/>\npresentation at the workshop is strictly required.
